The CADclass MicroFarm Challenge invites students and hobbyist makers to revolutionize modern agriculture. Using CAD and 3D printing technologies, participants will develop innovative solutions to address pressing global farming challenges.
Design Brief 2024
This is the test of a special global educational initiative we’d love you to be part of. It is called the Micro:farm Challenge.The context is around “issues in agriculture” - climate change (extreme weather events, rising temperatures), resource depletion, pests & diseases, food waste, inequality (lack of access to technology and resources)…. to name a few.We are looking for passionate, talented designers (like you) to volunteer approximately 10 hours of their time to create some prototypes (digital and physical) and some records of their design process (sketches, models, test prints etc) to create something that goes some way to exploring, explaining or demonstrating of the issues at a micro (classroom level) around the world.Our long-term mission is to create a world-wide challenge that engages young people with real-life problems, and empowers them to use powerful tools and methods to start to DO THINGS to make a positive change in their community.
